Welcome to Desktop Universe! Desktop
Universe is designed to simulate the process of evolution, first
described by Charles Darwin, in a simple, graphical display. Watch as
the small black nuclei compete with each other over food while trying
to avoid being poisoned. The nuclei are helped along by an array of
coloured molecules, with simple rules governing which colours will
stick to which. The ultimate goal of a nucleus is, of course,
reproduction, at which point mutations provide genetic diversity.
Coming Soon!!!! - Desktop Universe Version 2.0
Features include:
- Scrollbars to view the entire environment.
- The ability to select environment parameters such as the environment size, molecule density, and energy values.
- The ability to customize the collision rules for molecules.
